Testing Widget

Check how your widget looks from inside the dashboard before embedding it on your site. Testing its answers needs the embed script installed — the dashboard preview renders the widget but never connects it to the API.

Both the Create Widget screen and the widget Settings tab render a live preview of the widget. The preview reflects your current appearance settings and updates as you edit, so you can see colors, sizing, and positioning before saving.

To exercise the product itself, open the Playground from the widget page. The title bar’s Open Playground button takes over the screen with a live cloud browser on your Application. The widget answers there only if your site already carries the embed script. See User Support.

Work through these checks. The first three need the widget embedded on your site; the rest you can check in the dashboard preview.

  • Responses — Ask the questions your customers ask most and verify the answers are accurate and helpful.
  • Interaction modes — Exercise Tell, Show, and Do to confirm each enabled mode works as expected.
  • Quick-action chips — Tap each chip and confirm it sends the right prompt in the right mode.
  • Greeting — Open the widget and check the greeting message displays correctly.
  • Appearance — Verify colors, fonts, and position match your brand.
  • Devices — Check the widget on both desktop and mobile viewport sizes.

If something isn’t right during testing:

  • Wrong answers — Add or update Knowledge so Marketrix has more context. More context leads to better responses.
  • Missing Show/Do capabilities — Run Simulations so Marketrix learns your application’s UI.
  • Appearance issues — Adjust settings in Widget Customization and re-check the preview.
