Generating Personas

Personas are added from the Personas page — click Add Personas and pick how you want them made.

Generation usually takes about a minute. While it runs, the page shows that personas are being generated, and the grid fills in when it finishes — you don’t have to stay on the page.

From Materials opens a three-step wizard — Materials, Review, Done — instead of the inline generation the other modes use. Upload files, review what they propose before anything is written, then confirm. It’s the same materials review used to update an existing persona and to apply a Grounding Round’s answers.

What generation uses

Marketrix grounds each generated persona in your Knowledge. It searches your Application’s Knowledge for the most relevant context — typical users, customer segments, use cases, value propositions — and feeds that into the persona. With no relevant knowledge to draw on, it falls back to a more general profile based on your domain.

Each generated persona comes with five of its seven layers filled in, tags, and a Big Five and MBTI profile.

Tip

The richer your Knowledge, the more grounded and product-specific your generated personas will be. Add personas again after you bring in substantial new knowledge, and the new batch picks it up.

Note

If Research is running, the page says so. Personas you add while it runs pick up the knowledge it has produced so far, so it’s worth waiting for it to finish if you want the full picture.

Personas from onboarding

When onboarding creates your workspace’s first Application, Marketrix starts generating a first set of personas for it straight away, grounded in your domain. There is nothing to pick: the Personas page fills in when generation finishes, and you add more with Add Personas like any other time.

Editing a persona

A generated persona is a starting point, not a final word. Open one and choose Edit to refine its layers; Persona Details covers what a persona holds.
