Testing Your Widget

Use the built-in playground to test your widget before embedding it on your site. This ensures your agent responds correctly and the widget looks right.

From the Widgets page, click Test on any widget to open a live preview. The preview renders the widget exactly as it will appear to your users, including all appearance settings and interaction modes.

Work through these checks before deploying:

  • Agent responses — Ask common questions and verify the agent gives accurate, helpful answers.
  • Interaction modes — Test Tell, Show, and Do modes to confirm each works as expected.
  • Appearance — Verify colors, fonts, and positioning match your brand.
  • Desktop and mobile — Check the widget on both viewport sizes to ensure it renders correctly.
  • Quick action chips — Click each chip and confirm it triggers the right response.
  • Greeting message — Open the widget and verify the initial greeting displays correctly.

If something isn’t right during testing:

  • Wrong answers — Add or update knowledge items assigned to the agent. More context leads to better responses.
  • Missing capabilities — Run simulations to help the agent learn your application’s UI for Show and Do modes.
  • Appearance issues — Adjust settings in Widget Customization and re-test.
